Backup Contact Plus exports iPhone contacts to a file you keep and can restore later. iOS can already export a contact list as a vCard. This app is a dedicated backup and restore path when you do not want to depend on iCloud.

People who keep contacts on the iPhone, who do not use iCloud for contacts, or who want a file of their own before they switch phones.
What it does
- An export you keep. Save contacts to a file on the device you control, instead of assuming iCloud has them.
- A restore path. Bring contacts back from a backup you made, onto this iPhone.
- Contacts permission, and only that. The app asks to read and write contacts so it can export and restore. Under this policy that access stays on the device.
How it compares
You may not need an app. The iPhone Contacts app can export a list: open Contacts, open Lists, touch and hold a list, tap Export, and send the vCard. iCloud Contacts will copy contacts to a new iPhone if both phones use the same Apple Account and Contacts is turned on. Backup Contact Plus is for a file you make and restore on purpose, including when iCloud Contacts is off. Contacts that live in Gmail, Exchange, or another account are separate. Export each account's list. Exporting one list does not copy the others.

Questions people ask
Does iOS already do this?
Partly. Contacts can export a list as a vCard, and iCloud can sync contacts. Backup Contact Plus is a single place to export a backup and restore it when you are not using iCloud for that.
Are my Gmail contacts included automatically?
Only if they are in the list you export. Gmail and Exchange keep their own copies. Check Contacts, Lists, and export each account you care about.
Do you upload my address book?
No. This policy says contact data stays on your iPhone. We do not collect it.
I deleted the app. Is there a copy at Aivana?
No. If you did not save the exported file somewhere yourself, we cannot get it back.
